Does Fiscal require Google Finance?

Yes. Fiscal uses Google Finance to provide the details of your stocks and portfolios as well as the total market values and movements.  You’ll need to have a Google Account to set up your portfolios and stocks.

Can I add stock quantities, dates and cost prices?

Yes, on Google Finance. If you click on ‘Edit Transactions’ within Google Finance you can enter buy/sell, date, quantity and pricing of each stock transaction. Keep in mind Fiscal is not designed for trading and the pricing provided is delayed.

Can you change the currency of a Portfolio?

Yes, on Google Finance, you click ‘Edit Portfolio’ there is a menu which allows you to change the currency. Fiscal displays portfolio totals in the  currency selected here.

Fiscal reports  ‘Authentication failed’

Please make sure your email address is entered correctly and includes the full domain and is the same email address you used to set up your Google account.  If you have a @gmail.com address you only need to include your name as Fiscal will automatically add ‘@gmail.com’.

Does Fiscal show cash?

Yes, only in the Portfolio totals. Fiscal will not list cash as a separate line item but adds it to the value of your stock holdings.  If a portfolio has no stocks (only cash) the portfolio total is reported incorrectly as zero.

Does Fiscal support shares worth less than $0.01?

Yes, however Fiscal only displays two decimal places and will not show the third decimal place. Portfolio totals will be correct. Graphing will rescale  so long as all the stock you select are in a similar price band.

Can I enter non US stocks like those on the ASX?

Yes. You can directly enter codes on other exchanges by adding the exchange code prior to the stock code. For example ASX:BHP will add BHP listed on the ASX exchange or NYSE:BHP as listed on the NYSE.

What stocks does Fiscal not support?

My stocks are displayed but at Zero Value ?

Fiscal is limited to the stocks which Google Finance supports. We are aware of the following which are not supported: Canadian Mutual Funds, Australian Preference Shares and most Indices. Please notify us of any other stocks or symbols.
